Profound Alternatives in 2026: Eleven Tools, Sorted by Who They Are Actually For

Last updated August 2026

TL;DR: Profound is excellent and priced for enterprise. Its cheapest plan is $99 a month for ChatGPT only, the useful plan is $399, and the nine-engine tier is a custom quote.[1] If that is not your budget, the alternatives split into four groups: SEO suites that added an AI toolkit (Semrush, Ahrefs, Similarweb), self-serve trackers (Peec, Otterly, Rankscale, Scrunch, AthenaHQ), commerce-native platforms (Azoma, Goodie), and India-first tools like GetSeenInAI at ₹3,999 a month. Here is what each one costs and who should pick it.

Why people look for an alternative

Three reasons come up in every conversation we have. The price: $399 a month buys Profound's Growth plan with three engines and 100 prompts, and the enterprise tier that unlocks the rest is quote-only.[1] The sales motion: enterprise onboarding is built for a procurement team, not a founder with a card. And the fit: a nine-engine dashboard is overkill when your buyers are mostly asking ChatGPT.

None of that makes Profound a bad tool. It makes it the wrong tool for a specific kind of buyer, and that buyer has options now.

The quick table

Prices are the vendor's published figures or, where marked, third-party reviews from 2026. Every one of these moves, so treat the table as a map and confirm on the vendor page before you buy.

Group one: the SEO suites that added an AI toolkit

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit. $99 a month per domain billed annually, 25 custom prompts with daily rankings, mentions across ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, an AI-readiness site audit, and a seven-day trial.[2] If your team already lives in Semrush, this is the path of least resistance. The prompt cap is the thing to watch: 25 prompts is one topic, not a category.

Ahrefs Brand Radar. Sold per AI index at $199 a month, or $699 for all of them, and it needs an Ahrefs subscription underneath, so reviewers put the realistic all-in figure around $828 a month.[3] The draw is the prompt database Ahrefs built from search demand and six engines including Google AI Mode. The catch is that price.

Similarweb AI Search Intelligence. Similarweb's page lists a standalone tier at $99 covering AI Traffic, AI Brand Visibility and Website Rankings, and a $399 tier that adds its competitive intelligence, SEO and AEO suites.[4] The differentiator is traffic: it tries to connect AI mentions to actual visits, which none of the pure trackers do. The page does not say whether $99 is monthly or annual, so ask.

Group two: the self-serve trackers

Peec AI. Reported at about €85, €205 and €425 a month for Starter, Pro and Advanced, each tracking three engines with extra engines as €20 to €30 add-ons, plus an enterprise tier and a seven-day trial.[5] Strong citation intelligence, many languages, regional share of voice, and in mid-2026 it added SKU-level shopping analytics. A good default for a European marketing team.

Otterly. The cheapest credible tracker: reviewers list Lite at $29 a month for 15 prompts across four engines, Standard at $189 for 100 prompts with API access, and Premium at $489.[6] Gemini and Google AI Mode cost extra. If you only need to know whether you show up, Otterly answers that for the price of a pizza.

AthenaHQ. Self-serve at $295 a month ($245 billed annually) on a credit model, eight engines, an "Action Center" and a chat copilot over your data, with enterprise from around $2,000.[7] The credit model rewards focused prompt sets and punishes sprawling ones.

Scrunch AI. Starter at $300 a month ($250 annually) and Growth at $500, seven engines on self-serve, and Sitecore bought the company in June 2026, so expect it to lean into the Sitecore stack.[8]

Rankscale. Four tiers from $20 to $780 a month on a credit pool, with engines billed at different credit rates and 17-plus engines in total.[9] It is the widest engine list on the market and the hardest bill to predict.

Group three: commerce-native

Azoma. Enterprise agentic-commerce optimization used by Mars, Unilever, L'Oréal and others, covering ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Amazon Rufus and Walmart's Sparky, with custom pricing and a pilot-led sales motion.[10] If you sell through Amazon at scale, this is the specialist. There is no self-serve tier.

Goodie AI. Reported at $399 a month for Explorer with 100 prompts and three engines, with Rufus tracking on the quote-only Pro plan.[11] Built by the team behind an agency, so the recommendations lean toward content programs.

Group four: India-first

GetSeenInAI. A free check runs 12 real ChatGPT questions for your category with no card. The workspace at ₹3,999 a month (about $45 to $50) measures your brand daily, tracks up to 40 of your own prompts with a mention history per prompt, shows share of voice and who wins each question, clusters sentiment from verbatim excerpts, asks the same questions as a buyer in an Indian city, and turns lost questions into a checklist with drafted pages that push to WordPress as drafts. One engine today, ChatGPT, with Gemini and Perplexity next. No teams, no SSO, no API yet. The methodology is public. We are biased, obviously, so we put our gaps in the head-to-head with Profound.

Picking

  • You are in an enterprise and coverage is the mandate: Profound, or Azoma if marketplaces are the business.
  • You already pay Semrush or Ahrefs: try their toolkit first, then decide whether the prompt caps hurt.
  • You want the cheapest signal: Otterly.
  • You are a European marketing team: Peec.
  • You run an Indian brand and want the score, the exact prompts and the fix plan for the price of a lunch a week: GetSeenInAI.

Whatever you pick, measure before you buy. Every tool on this list, including ours, offers a free check or a trial, and a week of real answers tells you more than any comparison table.
